YOUR EXPERIENCE 

This private 1-day Workshop in Wānaka with Richard Young is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind experience that offers you the rare opportunity to spend an entire day with one of New Zealand leading landscape photographers  in one of New Zealand’s most breathtaking landscapes. This in-person, full-day (8hr+) session is designed to be an immersive, hands-on learning experience, tailored to your specific photography goals and interests. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique, develop your unique artistic voice, or simply immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area, this day is all about you.

ITINERARY 

Our day will start with a sunrise shoot (or the option to swap for a sunset shoot, depending on the time of year). We’ll explore some of Wānaka’s lesser-known locations, where I’ll provide on-the-spot guidance on composition, light, and capturing the mood of the landscape. We will spend this morning exploring some hidden locations around Wanaka with the options for exploring some of the mountain valleys and also an elevated viewpoint above the lake.

Following the shoot, we’ll return to my studio for an in-depth critique and editing session. We will look at how you can refine your approach to the landscape and work on post-processing your images to bring out their full potential. To make the experience even more special, you’ll have the option to select 2 of your best images from the day (or one you bring with you), which we’ll print together as 24x17” prints using advanced techniques to make stunning fine art prints that you can take home with you.

This day is not just about learning; it’s about creating a memorable, personalised experience that deepens your connection to your craft, the landscape and leaves you with tangible results that you’ll cherish for years to come.

Optional: You may bring with you up to 10 of your images on a USB drive that we can also look over in the review session, or choose to make a print from instead of your images taken on the day.
